Mission Bay Real Estate

The land of near-perfect weather year-round and innumerable sports and recreational activities, Mission Bay is a beach town community located within the Pacific Beach area in San Diego County, California. It is bordered by the community of Mission Beach to the east, Clairemont Mesa to the west, La Jolla to the north, and Ocean Beach to the south. Two major highways (Interstates 5 and 8) make Mission Bay easily accessible from the other parts of San Diego County.

Mission Bay real estate is one of the most sought after due to its beautiful bay front homes. The sunny beaches and the blue waters offer an incredible range of sport and entertainment for both visitors and residents. The beautiful San Diego weather favors a myriad of outdoor activities such as sunbathing, surfing, sailing, water skiing, fishing, swimming, etc.

The Mission Bay Park located in Mission Bay offers lots of recreation and fun. The park spans a whopping 4,235 acres and has 27 miles of shoreline of picturesque beaches. This marsh land turned recreational park is America’s largest man-made aquatic park. The numerous inlets and water bodies of the bay offer excellent opportunities for fishing, sailing, skiing, and swimming. The park’s open spaces and grasslands are ideal for several games, sports and picnicking, and its miles of dedicated bike and jogging trails are bikers and joggers’ paradise. Little wonder that the Mission Bay Park boasts of more than 15 million visitors a year.

Mission Bay is also home to the 189 acre Sea World, San Diego’s famous water adventure park, popular for its numerous attractions, exhibits, shows, rides, and events. Belmont Park located in Mission Beach, is San Diego’s only beachfront amusement park. The park is famous for its Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, a major attraction here.

Residents and tourists alike enjoy the breezy evenings and cool nights at the cemented boardwalk that lines the bay and the Pacific Ocean in the Mission beach community area, to the west of Mission Bay. The boardwalk that stretches along 8 miles is much preferred by walkers, runners, joggers and skate boarders.

The Fiesta Island Park centrally located is another popular location for recreational water sports. Special events such as charity walks and runs, bicycle races, time trials are conducted the year round including the ‘Over the Line’ tournament every summer.

The Mission Bay community is also a haven for a large species of fauna and flora. The area is a natural habitat for a wide variety of birds, animals and fish.

Students in this area attend the Mission Bay schools, which are part of the San Diego Unified school district, one of the most prestigious school districts in the State.

Mission Bay real estate, with its large selection of vacation homes, luxury beach homes and upscale beach condominiums offers the most wonderful waterfront living. Single-family homes that are largely construction beach cottages are available from the $600,000s. Mission Bay real estate also includes estate properties located on the hillsides that offer breathtaking views of the bay.

Mission Bay real estate including the upscale communities of Fiesta Island and Crown Point comprises a mix of single-family homes, attached homes, estate homes and luxury condos. A lot of newly constructed homes available at Crown Point and Fiesta Island communities are being rapidly snapped up.

Being the hub of tourist attraction throughout the year, Mission Bay has a thriving commercial community with small businesses, restaurants, boutiques and beach shops. Like all tourist beach communities, Mission Bay has a great nightlife too. Life is never dull in this beach town that sizzles with activities all through the day and the night.

Whether it is the choicest of homes such as white large bungalows, the elegant Victorian homes, the upscale oceanfront condominiums or hilltop homes with incredible views, Mission Bay real estate offers home buyers a wide variety to choose from.

Mission Bay real estate is not only an affordable option when compared to the upscale La Jolla homes, but also offers the buyers an impressive appreciation of the property. This along with the exquisite waterfront living and close proximity to the major cities of San Diego makes Mission Bay real estate one of the most desired waterfront locations in California.
